Training in Leadership and Management for senior public servants in Saba

 

The Caribbean Centre for Development Administration, CARICAD is holding a training workshop in Saba on, “Capacity Building in the Public Sector”. The Modular Programme of Management and Personal Development Skills is aimed at facilitating the strengthening of management skills of participants so that they can better contribute to making their respective departments into high performance organizations.  Senior Public Sector managers will be trained to manage more effectively, and explore ways to make the Ministries and Departments more facilitative of their efforts, after they have acquired these new skills and competencies.  This is a practical hands-on programmme which is designed to provide Senior Managers with practical skill techniques and information that will enhance their ability to strategically manage.  

 

This is being done in four modules within various periods, during the month of February to June, 2009.

 

 

OBJECTIVES:

 

  • Describe and explain the concepts, principles and practices of effective Leadership and Management in the public sector 
  • Provide opportunities for managers to identify Leadership and Management challenges and consider options for overcoming the challenges
  • To illustrate the importance of self-management for organizational development
  • Share tips, tools and techniques for improving Leadership and Management practices 
  • Foster and encourage a team approach to improving public sector performance in Saba
